Whole Body Vibration (WBV)
Is a revolutionary new method of training that incorporates the natural forces of gravity to stimulate the body in a pure up and down motion which is delivered to the entire body . The person simply stands on the platform for 10 minutes and will recieve about the same benefit of 1 hour of conventional training. The beauty is that almost anyone can train: from child to debilitated seniors. One does not overtax the heart and no sweating occurs (perfect for home or office).
Research on WBV began in the 1960’s to enhance the performance of Soviet athletes who where able to stay in space 420 days compared to American astronauts 120 days. Through the continuing years, research continued throughout the world, including Italy, Germany and the USA. Although whole body vibration technology has been around for decades, it is only relatively recently that the technology has been available for medical, sports science and aesthetic purposes, rather than just astronauts and professional athletes.
Degenerative disease conditions, accelerated aging, and all diminished capacities ultimately can be attributed to insufficient cellular stimulation . As the living cell struggles with poor nutrition, low oxygen levels, environmental toxins and stagnation of lymphatic fluids disease conditions develop which shorten the life span. Whole Body Vibration can reverse that process.
TurboSonic Vibration Therapy provides the first safe, effective way to excite human cells. This new technology accelerates the body’s natural healing response, increases cellular oxygen uptake, enhances cellular nutrient uptake, stimulates cellular fluid movement and facilitates cellular waste removal. As a result, the new cells are more resilient, more vibrant, and function together as a healthier, longer lasting body.CONDITIONS TREATED IN EUROPE WITH WBV INCLUDE:
Obesity, Osteoporosis, Ligamentous knee injuries and repair, Low back problems, Neuromuscular disorders ie, MS, Strength and power training for athletes, incontinence, Postural stability, Peripheral vascular disease/Diabetes(to improve circulation)
Whole body vibration training (WBVT) has been shown to cause clear metabolic responses similar to other forms of exercise. Studies seem to indicate that WBVT may represent a mild form of exercise for the cardiovascular system. This is very beneficial for elderly people when other solutions are not possible. Cardiovascular risk for this exercise with the elderly was considered “negligible.” Other beneficial reports include reduced lower back pain and chronic pain. It is therefore a viable alternative for those who cannot run or use weights.
WBVT has been shown to acutely enhance strength, performance and power capabilities even in well-trained people. Other long term benefits of WBV include increased growth and male hormones, improved bone density and strength, motor control, balance, relief of chronic pain, and increased blood circulation.
Viable alternative for the sedentary injured and elderly as no effort is involved and there is no complicated technique to master. Special populations in particular seem to benefit from WBVT, e.g. unilateral chronic stroke patients are shown to improve postural stability, heart transplant patients can use WBVT with no adverse events, non-pharmacological intervention for the prevention of osteoporosis.
When used properly in the prevention and treatment of medical conditions and rehabilitation, “WBV can be used as an effective exercise intervention for reducing the actions of the ageing processes of skeletal muscles.” A. Viru, University of Tartu, Tartu, Estonia

• Unlike mechanical vibration training devices which can be extremely noisy , TurboSonic vibra tion produces almost no audible sound
• Mechanical vibration training units operate at frequencies above 20 Hz which require that subjects do push-ups or lift weights on the plate with affected muscles within 24” of the plate to affect a training response in the muscles
• TurboSonic vibration is most effective on all muscle groups with the subject standing upright
• No muscular exertion is required with Sonic vibration
•Muscle groups are worked selectively by varying frequencies in a range lower than those available to mechanical vibration devices
• Intensity is infinitely variable , enabling fine-tuning or body sculpting, a capacity difficult to accomplish with mechanical vibration devices
• The subjective experience of frequencies above 35 Hz is one of buzzing in the body ; at frequencies below 30 Hz it is one of vibration, which seems to move from muscle group to muscle group with each change to a lower frequency.
• One stands upright on the platform plate
• each training session is only 10 minutes unlke mechanical vibration training devices which can be extremely noisy , TurboSonic vibra tion produces almost no audible sound
